English actor Kit Harington won many hearts with his role as Jon Snow in HBO’s hit series Game Of Thrones, but it appears he almost lost his mind after the show.

Kit Harington starred in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, where he met the woman he eventually married, co-star Rose Leslie. But even though Thrones has made him a global phenomenon, it took a toll on him mentally.

The actor opened up about his struggles on The Jess Cagle Show with SiriusXM, revealing that Game Of Thrones broke him down and he had to take some time off to focus on himself and his mental health.

 “I went through some mental health difficulties after Thrones and during the end of Thrones, to be honest. I think it’s directly to do with the nature of the show and what I’ve been doing for years. I think I took a sort of a break after Thrones… I didn’t want to work for a year… I’m really happy I did that”, he admitted.

Game of Thrones ended in 2019 and it was rumored that Kit checked himself into a mental health facility immediately after the show to get a remedy for some personal issues. Little did fans know it was the beloved show that had done him in.

Game of Thrones is notorious for its violent and intense scenes and Jon Snow’s storyline was a hell of a journey. It is no wonder that Kit had to go through rehabilitation after everything.
