June 2024 · 6 minute read

Since Amy Robach's relationship with TJ Holmes became public knowledge in November 2022, their lives have been nothing short of a rollercoaster.

Robach's marriage to Andrew Shue, with whom she had a blended family of five children, ended because of her affair with her fellow GMA3 cast member. Holmes's marriage to long-time wife Marilee Fiebig, with whom he has a small daughter, has also broken down.

The network eventually kicked them off, yet their bond still seems to be going strong. Here's a rundown of everything that transpired since the controversy.

6 Amy Robach Wore A Ring That TJ Holmes Gave Her Around Her Neck As They Wait For Their Severance Pay

Holmes and Robach were fired from GMA in January 2023 after rumors of an affair surfaced, and they were still awaiting severance. Robach was recently seen wearing the promise ring that Holmes had given her, which was made of 18-karat gold.

The U.S. Sun got an exclusive interview with Eric Schiffer, chairman of the Los Angeles-based firm Reputation Management Consultants, regarding the sighting and what could be next for the pair.

He said that her public display of affection for TJ in the form of the ring around her neck in New York was evidence of their committed relationship. Schiffer elaborated, saying of Robach and Holmes, "They're being their authentic selves, living their life, using love."

He added that the pair are "likely awaiting their payout of the settlement to end, but this is not the end for either of them.”

The two have not yet secured new employment, either together or separately.

”The longer either are off-air, there is a half-life decay that occurs with broadcast personalities and you lose your audience's emotional tie," Schiffer told The U.S. Sun.

4 Amy Robach And TJ Holmes’ Partners Are Undergoing Divorce Proceedings

Holmes filed for divorce from his wife of more than a decade, Marilee Fiebig, a month after the incident became public knowledge. Fiebig, on the other hand, finally spoke up about the public cheating issue involving Holmes through her attorney in January.

“During the holiday season and in light of the challenging times, Marilee’s sole focus has remained on the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter,” her lawyer, Stephanie Lehman, explained to Us Weekly in a statement.

“To that end, T.J.’s lawyer and I have been working together to move their divorce forward privately, expeditiously and as amicably as possible.”

The lawyer went on, “Notwithstanding, we continue to be disappointed by T.J’s lack of discretion, respect and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party’s daughter. Marilee has been touched by the outpouring of support and looks forward to a new beginning in this new year.”

The status of Robach's marriage to Andrew Shue, whom she wed in 2010, was initially unknown. Us Weekly has now confirmed, however, that the couple is in the midst of divorce negotiations.

Sources say that Holmes and Robach have met with executives from entertainment businesses like Fox Entertainment and Fox Television Stations to discuss "general meetings" and "various opportunities," including a potential talk show.

Page Six claimed last week that Holmes and Robach had been "pitching a show a la Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos" to the creators of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Sources told Page Six that the couple used to have more of a "brother/sister chemistry" before "selling s*x," suggesting that their "selling chemistry" would not be as successful.

The rest of Holmes and Robach's presentation has been described as "vague" by those in the know, with suggestions of a TMZ-style gossip program also being made.

Executives have reportedly been assured by Robach and Holmes that they "can be whatever you want us to be,” showing they may be missing out on lucrative opportunities due to their “love” for each other.

“One thing’s for sure,” the insider said. “They can’t do news.”

Following a flurry of reports, including illicit pictures of their adulterous affair and allegations that Holmes had previous romances with junior staffers at ABC News, the source has concluded that the couple is no longer "credible" as newspeople.
